Hello-
Margo here from Apathetic Drive.
This is a blog about a blog. What does blog stand for? Originally I guess it was a Web Log and was shortened to BLOG. Clever! But what exactly is a blog? Blogs take on so many forms and reach so many forums. I bet there is a blog about forearms for example. Alarming yet charming. A bit like our band...and now Apathetic Drive is on another Blog. The Denver Post has a Blog called Reverb and we showed up on it today. It was a huge surprise. I never thought that I would show up on a blog. It's really strange. Blogs.....perplexing things, frankly. In all actuality I suppose I should have an opinion about something to make this blog about something. Oh well. -M

Apathetic Drive Has some gigs coming up, and it seems like I (Margo) posted one of them incorrectly.

*We are playing The Lion's Lair on Thursday, January 17th with "The Gypsy Fembots" and "I'm a Boy".

*We are playing The Larimer Lounge on January 25th at 8:00 with "Sonatine" - "I Sank Molly Brown" - "The Clause" & our old friends "Fell"......Discount tickets and free beer available on our website www.apatheticdrive.com or on our myspace site.

*We have two Gigs in February: One on Valentines Day at the Hi-Dive and one at The 12 Volt Tavern on February 23rd.

Playing out is my favorite part about being in the band. I feel like 007 or something sometimes. Like I lead two different lives. One is Margo the sweet hair stylist and one is Margo the angry little rocker. Maybe instead of 007 it's more of a Dr. Jekyl and Mrs. Hyde thing. Whatever it is, I like it! -M

Hello this is Margo..... Ive been gone a while. It seems like the whole world went on hold and I've been listening to the busy signal for the last three month. I guess it's better than listening to that depressing music they play on some lines when you're forced to hold in order to not talk to a real person but to an animated voice that will tell you to push buttons on your phone so that you may finally, in the end, just push zero for the operator. Anyhoo, we are still recording at 7&1/2 Studio's in Denver with Andy. He is great to work with. We have the base covered for 5 songs, two of which you can hear rough-mixes on our mysapce site if you care to visit it.
The band seems to be having some growing pains right now. I suppose it's the normal progression for where we are in the life cycle, but I'm not particularly partial to it. I hope we are able to cope, and grow out of this stage really soon.
We have a nice cluster of shows coming up. The Lion's Lair on January 17th. The Larimer Lounge on January 25th. The Hi-Dive on Valentines day, and The 12 Volt on January 23rd. All cool clubs in very unique ways.
Maybe someone will read this? That would be, as my Mother says, nice and different.

Today's the Day

I've got a few minutes to kill before the we start loading up our equipment to head to the studio. Got new strings on my guitar, and my pedal board is all ready for recording. Can't wait to get recording now! Plus I left work early so that I won't feel rushed, which is always nice. Now hopefully the studio's lack of running water won't be too much of an issue.

Yes, Apathetic Drive is starting a blog! About time, since we're gonna start recording some songs tomorrow. We're packing up as we type in fact. We decided to keep a journal of our progress and/or failings. Hopefully we'll have some videos, pics and song clips in the next few months.

Hello there blogging world. My name is Margo, and this is my first blog. I'm in a Colorado based band called Apathetic Drive. Myself and my Band Mates: Matt, Nate, and Tim, are about to embark in a recording studio adventure. We thought it might be neat to document it, and after much "discussion," decided that a blog would be an interesting format.....For future reference, "discussion" means 'a bout of small meaningless arguments between band members culminating in a final decision that could possible change at any moment, and most likely will not be carried in out in a timely fashion by all members of the band until another "heated discussion" ensues.' Hence, us living up to our band name.
It's all a bit nerve-racking, heading to the studio, that is. And when I'm nervous I sometimes pick fights with My Boys. So, a few weeks ago, I started a new meditation every morning which should allow me to control myself from having "heated discussions" while in a studio setting. I guess we will see if my new mantra has payed off in about 4 hours.
